The faces of violence
We live embedded in the vortex of communications flowing rivers where human relationships are riddled with networks, with promises to keep us informed, we actually apprehended are leaving amid a tangle of feelings, which incite the senses, which if in a wild free ingresáramos whose fate remains uncertain way, up ahead, without specifying a point somewhere in consciousness
Today we speak of violence as one who speaks of mythological thousand-headed hydra to which we can not approach, because every time we focus on some stage, it appears that it splits again and again in new and terrible expressions with fury.
Violence is part of the everyday as a natural consequence of our environment, is the living expression of our frustrations, the mask which hides the broken promises, delayed projects, the tomorrows that never change, those present who mock our predictable failures and the foolishness of our ever less credible excuses.
Violence has been installed in the center of all human emotions, we have exalted ourselves, is the master key of all the justifications, the wildcard that enables our plays, which we covered with a purported impunity, when deep inside, deep within our self, trying to drive "the brakes of consciousness" that still, but with a barely audible voice remind us who we are and what they are expected to do under certain circumstances.
The violence that behave as if it were a communicable virus virulence is easily detectable and is classified according to the various ways in which it occurs, which is to say, that although the disease as it diversifies its external symptoms.
So that if we are violent in the family, both as perpetrators or potential victims that they are classified in what we call: Domestic Violence.
And the symptoms of violence continues, say, domestic violence, sexual harassment, which threaten minorities, ethnic or religious, which are expressed in attacks on the minority, the undocumented, the homophobia, the "bars wild "in the sport, trade unions, corporations, institutes of education, the insecurity of the streets, transit, etc.. and so on.
In short, a huge rosary whose accounts we reviewed one by one as he tries to atone for a sin by penance, for being a "bad at all" fades and hardly pass the threshold of mere intentions, as is expressed in the popular proverb when we sentence: "the evil of many is the consolation of fools."
Those who inherited the foundations of Western thought and Christian, we should conduct a review of its origins, is not the same to talk of democracy in ancient Greece, where he outlined the guiding principles of life in the metropolis, of the interrelationship between the various sectors of society with regard to the rights of each and every one, with proportional representation in representative bodies of government, that we are enslaved by the theocracy, by the will and whim of a possessive and violent god, where the only supported option was the most absolute obedience to the divine will.
Surely if we follow this line of thought, we can better understand the words of the Divine Master, when, at the request of the scribes and Pharisees, who pretended to be confused with the question of whether it was lawful to charge taxes to the people of Israel by the authority Roman, He responds:
"They asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, and do not show partiality, but teach the way of God in truth.
Have we the right to give tribute to Caesar or not?
But he, understanding the cunning of them said: Why tempt ye me?
Show me the money. Who has the image and inscription? Answered and said, Caesar.
Then I said therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God what is God's.
And it might surprise you in word before the people, but marveled at his answer, silent.
Luke 20: 21 to 26
Here is a clear and precise teaching, expressed in the meridian of time, we must separate and clarify the boundaries between the powers of its own exercise of power by the state and the powers that can claim to possess the ecclesiastical authorities who represent the communities religious. Again, we state: Theocracy and Democracy are not synonymous, nor are congenial in their fundamental principles.
When church officials come to exercise political power of their nations, then the only possible alternative is that of submission to divine will, and as usually, their gods are dumb, it is argued that they have already said all they had to say, those who work to "name them" the mediators approved by a legacy that no one could see or verify, we build altars and decide on their behalf.
As a contribution to popular understanding of "how" violence is exercised by invoking God's will, I suggest reading a passage, that will show the arbitrary nature, irascible and passionate of the gods, as expressed by those who claim to have heard directly from his lips.
Let's see:
Consequences of disobedience
"But if you hear me, not do all my commandments, my statutes, and if desdeñareis, and your soul despised my statutes, not do all my commandments, but break My covenant, I will do this to you: I will appoint over you terror, exhaustion and fever, that shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart, and sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you, and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
And if these things do not even listen to me, I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
And I will break the pride of your power, and make your heaven as iron and your earth as brass.
Your strength will be spent in vain, for your land shall not yield her increase, and the trees of the land yield their fruit.
If you walk contrary to me, and hearken me, I will put upon you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.
I will also send wild beasts among you which shall rob your children and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number, and your roads are deserted.
And if these things shall go not corrected, but ye walk contrary to me, I also walk contrary to you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.
I will bring a sword upon you in vengeance, in vindication of the covenant, and if gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you, and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.
When I broke the will of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat and be satisfied.
And against you in anger, and will punish you seven times for your sins.
And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and eat the flesh of your daughters.
I will destroy your high places and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
I will make your cities, and bring your sanctuaries, and I will not smell the fragrance of your sweet perfume.
Also the land desolate, and so stunned by your enemies that dwell therein: and I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate and your cities ... continued "
Leviticus 26: 14-33
What we have read is not a science fiction story, not a story of terror, are the words inserted in the Torah, the Law of Moses, led his people certainly deserve to be content to analyze fairness criterion, intelligence, and especially under the influence of everything we have learned about free will and human rights.
Actions such as those described in the story, unfortunately, have been and still are, commonplace in the exercise of power of many leaders in our beleaguered planet, some, when they are overthrown, where the most powerful nations of the subject and imprison them, are sent to the courts to be tried for their crimes against humanity.
As we said in the beginning, the violence has many facets, some are quite easily recognized, others have the guarantee of our own complicity, and others are exercised under the guise of saving us from our sins committed at some point, perhaps in some distant generation, as the original sin of our first parents, will always be some "axis of evil" to justify all the aberrations that are committed daily unmoved at the sight of all those who feed the "rating" of the news channels world.
