Google AdWords Promotion - Using AdWords to promote your business
Using Google Adwords as a promotion for your site is one of the fastest and easiest ways to get new visitors to your web site.
If you believe the hype, all you have to do is follow the instructions on screen and in a few minutes, you will always be visitors.
But is it true?
As often happens, the answer is yes and no.
The number of people who saw your ad Adwords will depend on how well you choose your keywords. If you choose an obscure set of keywords to trigger your ad (something like "pot bellied pig in Scandinavia"), then you should expect your ad to appear very often.
At the other end of the scale, if you choose something with too many searches (eg "Britney Spears"), then you run out of money before you can blink.
The most important elements of your Google Adwords promotion are as follows:
Keyword choice. In general, the more targeted the better. You'll get fewer clicks but will be people who specifically want your product or service.
Ad title and text. The title is the most important of these. Ensure that refers to the keywords you are bidding on - this will help keep the cost of your ad down.
Display URL. This seems to be the most relevant to the keywords you bid, the better.
Landing page URL. This must be relevant to the keywords and ad. If you're bidding on Britney Spears then they should be sending people to a page of nuclear physics. It is not relevant and Google penalizing you by charging much more for your shots.
