Review of online site builders
Builders of online websites are becoming increasingly popular. Online site builders allow the average person to build HTML Challenged (dare I say ... cool) sites on-line without the need to code something. This is a time saving tools have incorporated some features, such as forums, link exchange, areas protected by a user password, RSS feeds and more.
I looked at a couple of offers recently in an attempt to replace the poor hosting I was from another web host. I compared 3 site builders:
1. VeryVip to [http://www.VeryVipHosting.com:] This host offered three options. A standard everday hosting option on-line and two options for building the site. The prices started at $ 14.95.
2. The WebWizard to [http://www.Probuildertool.com:] This host offered three options. All inclusive option on-line site. The prices started at $ 9.95.
3. Homestead Homestead.com: Offered 4 all the options including the development of the site online. The prices started at $ 9.99 (you get your first three months for $ 4.99).
Each vendor had their own strengths:
Homestead had a large selection of designs.
VeryVip offered built in RSS feeds.
Probuildertool offered free forums and
link exchange pages.
Ultimately as a programmer I have to go with the tool
I thought I would give more flexiblity for the cost and what was not like I built my site using a generator on-line site.
VeryViphosting.com was nice, but for a product that has been on the market for a couple of years, offers very little in terms of models. You can not use third-party templates unless you use the hosting alone.
Homestead had nice designs, but the drawings shown from the sites listed at the customers were very ... Well ... generic. In addition, you must download the editor (as a builder that makes this online site is beyond me ...)
Probuildertool.com had several models, even if the models 180 is actually more similar to 70 models and a combination of color and graphics. The only thing missing from the site offered to others, was the ability
to build a true community site and grow from there. Neither Homestead nor Vip offered a forum in their lower-level packages, while probuildertool offered on the first floor.
Homestead does not offer an option for creating a newsletter to everyone at any level, while VeryVipHosting offered only their highest level. Probuildertool offered their package to medium level.
Send a friend Link could be placed on any page in Probuildertool without typing any code. This was not possible with VeryVipHosting or Homestead.
Multimedia support (eg flash movies, music, etc.) was available for Homestead and Probuildertool, but not VeryVip hosting.
Homestead, according to customer sites, was not what I was looking for. I've been in business online web building since 1998 (according to their website) and has won awards for their product, but honestly the designs were a little 'bland.
Most likely because users do not use the software to its full potential.
Conclusion on Homestead: This is a very strong product and is obviously geared towards people who have never had a web presence, but you need to create in a hurry or those who may already have a brick and mortar presence.
I have to give George Little and people as well VeryVip. If you are trying to start an online business and has just begun, their option is the choice for you. If you see "Internet guru" book, ebook, web site or
Course e-mail you will find everything you want to have a website as an option on VeryVipHosting. Display RSS, RSS publishing, Ad Management, content, content, content.
Conclusion on VeryVipHosting: A solid product for the entrepreneur starting online.
The Probuildertool offered me a lot just for an investment of $ 9.95 per month. They give you just enough freedom to make your own site. I entered my data, set my forum to link my source article (one line of javascript) and
in a few minutes I was up and running.
Conclusion on Probuildertool: Offers lots of options and flexibility. Great price and gives the web designer with experience enough freedom to create a truly unique site.
If you're just getting started on the web or just need a web presence quickly any of these instruments can, honestly, do the job. I just found more flexiblilty with probuildertool, but this is my opinion. I encourage you to check them all out and
according to your needs to choose what is right for you .......
