Auto Repair Advertising - Word Of Mouth did your shop A Pretty Girl?

From the interviews I conducted with hundreds of business owners most advertising car repair is done through word of mouth. In many other articles I have discussed several reasons for this, as bad publicity strategies, communication problems and loathing for the general concept.

"Word of mouth is the only thing that works." - 90% of the facility owners.

What is really strange about this statement is that they are right, but how little they understand why.

Auto Repair Advertising - Breaking Down Word Of Mouth

My favorite resource wikipedia.org says: word of mouth, is a reference to the passage of information by verbal means, especially recommendations, but also general information, in an informal, person-to-person way. Word of mouth is typically considered a face-to-face verbal communication, although phone conversations, text messages sent via SMS and web dialogue, such as online profile pages, blogs, message board threads, instant messages and e emails are often now included in the definition of the word of mouth. There is some overlap in meaning between the word and the following: rumors, gossip, innuendo, and hearsay, but word of mouth is the most commonly used to describe the information is spreading positive rather than negative, although this is not always the case .

If you were to look into this and just scroll down the page you would see a section called "success stories" and "failed" examples of WOM.

Examples of success include the use of scarcity. Highlight successful examples of massive abundance.

Auto Repair Advertising - Game of WOM

Much of what you are doing for advertising auto repair today has generated a massive excess of negative WOM. The reason for this is the overabundance of places and the radical belief by the general population, all the stores that offer the same service and rob them blind at every opportunity.

Not only large auto repair facilities have been hurt by this. Smaller shops, which have relied for years on positive word of mouth are suffering in silence from what I've been told it is sometimes called a "pretty girl syndrome."

Auto Repair Advertising - A Pretty Girl Are You?

When the store has pretty girl syndrome, which means they have hit the saturation point in their business and that now "booked solid for 3 weeks solid." Although this may appear to the surface to be a good thing, you are working against them in a very massive.

I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of a shop in San Jose, CA who suffered from this exact problem. During our conversation, said to be "booked at least 3-4 weeks in advance, but activities in the past few months had fallen off significantly."

The problem could be external, market conditions might be, could be any number of things, but the bottom line is this: people are still having problems with the car and take them in a shop somewhere. It would seem that the ports have stopped talking.

Or maybe not. What can happen when a business falls prey to the syndrome beautiful girl is WOM has changed from 'You have to use Ace Auto Repair' to 'You know, do not call them, are usually booked too far. They are really good, but why not try this other place, seem to make us faster. '

After all, why would you want to approach the most beautiful girl in the place where you already know that will not always be the date? ......
