In Defense (?) TV3

I do not defend the existence of public television, at least in the sense that we have in Spain, which are instruments of political propaganda rather than service providers that do not provide private companies.

But they are there, why is deprived of the opportunity to see people interested in them? For political reasons, obviously. And I do not go here on the legality of the closure of TV3 in Valencia or in which he is entitled to technical reasons, since one and others are fully remedied.

I have explained elsewhere that some federal states like Germany, have regional channels, but public television disconnection state, the budget savings that entails. In others, like the U.S., PBS, the only existing public network, brings together community organizations, local educational or permit the issuance of non-performing programs of social interest that otherwise would have no place on the airwaves. So, precisely, the percentage of viewers is low at 2%.

The reason for TV3, as well as the dean of regional television channels, the Basque ETB-was the projection of the vernacular and this is also the reason that broadcast on the Community altered by PP, disturbed by the subtle language border between Valencian and Catalan maintains diffusely Language Academy Ascensia presiding Figueras.

That is a concern that comes from afar, from the very dawn of Canal Nou. However, in defense of TV3, to put it in some way, I want to make some considerations.

Then, after the arrival of his successor, Enric Canals, fell into the same defects as the hypertrophied TVE.

Even so, TV3 continues to bring fresh air to the stale atmosphere of public television. From it emerged, for example, Andreu Buenafuente, the best Spanish driver of late night shows. It broadcasts daily informative Josep Cuni, the more pluralistic and objective of his style. And she, too, Toni Soler presented the program of political satire Poland in the wake of the ingenious Go semanita, issued by the Basque ETB. Can anyone imagine that such a project something Canal Nou, ironically in his case on the figure of Paco Camps, the image of what happens in other television with their respective presidents?

For these reasons, children, if you will, by that disturbs me the disappearance of Valencia TVE television spectrum, beyond the technical reasons, legal and even political that might justify it.

For me, then, as a lover of quality television is a real shame.
